Austin, Texas, MeetingTechOnline serves as a communication link between technology
suppliers and buyers through its database of listings, which suppliers sign up for.
We also conduct research through show organizers, technology suppliers, and industry
experts. Qualitative and quantitative data are respectively gathered though primary
sources and survey analysis.

One person with whom you want to be stranded on a deserted island: Pablo Picasso

Staff Writer

Favorite MTO article: All of them are quite informative, but the one that stands out for me is
"Blogging: From Text to Video"
Favorite technological innovation: In the meetings industry, the transition from old-fashioned posters to interactive plasma displays is rather impressive. From the standpoint of an average American consumer, I would have to choose the advent of widespread MP3 players, such as iPods, as one of the most notable inventions out there.
Office music preference: Silence is golden. But if I had to select a musical type, it would be classical, New Age, or something that doesn’t distract from productivity.
One person with whom you want to be stranded on a deserted island: Somebody with the ability to forge for food and ensure survival. Or my brother; he’s pretty cool.
Most inspirational quote: "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." - Albus Dumbledore
Favorite ice cream toppings: Heath bar and Butterfinger bits, marshmallow minis, hot fudge, caramel sauce, and occasionally gummy bears.
Additional information: Linda believes the best feeling in the world comes from getting things done. If she weren’t bombarded with deadlines and expectations, she would hardly know what to do with herself. Using writing as therapy, Linda saves hundreds of dollars on therapy by taking out her frustrations on the computer or piano keyboard. On life both inside and outside the office, she abides by the three D’s: duty, dedication, and discipline.

Favorite MTO article:
"Top Technologies for 2008"
Favorite technological innovation: iPhone
Office music preference: Country
One person with whom you want to be stranded on a deserted island: My mom
Most inspirational quote: "Rule #76: No excuses, play like a champion!" – Jeremy Grey (Wedding Crashers)
Favorite ice cream toppings: Snickers candy bar
Additional information: I grew up in a relatively small town with big plans in mind. I played every sport growing up, then in high school played baseball my freshman year, golf my sophomore and junior year along with Rodeo my junior and senior year. I love the outdoors and hanging out with my friends. I am a hardworking individual who loves competition. I enjoy communicating with others and interacting in a team environment.
Sarah Sultan
Staff Writer
Hometown: Houston, Texas
Favorite MTO article:
"The Complexities of Price" because I like trying to understand complicated ideas. It makes life much more interesting.
Favorite technological innovation: I love digital cameras even though I recognize that it’s still not possible to capture the total essence on film. Pictures don’t do beauty justice.
Office music preference: Rock and today’s country, but if I’m writing then I really prefer something mellow and soft, or nothing at all.
One person with whom you want to be stranded on a deserted island: My best friend because she understands me without me having to say a word. Plus, she’s a great cook so I know I wouldn’t starve.
Most inspirational quote: "Every artist was first an amateur." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Favorite ice cream toppings: Strawberries and/or raspberries
Something that not many people know about you: I always seem to have a "future plan", but it’s never set in stone, which means I’m always daydreaming about new possibilities and setting new goals to achieve these dreams. I fear wasted time more than anything and try to make the most of everyday because that which one does today has a direct effect on tomorrow. And all along the way, I write.
Alex Cheng
Bookkeeper
Hometown: Solon, Ohio
Favorite MTO article: I love all of them.
Favorite technological innovation: Airplanes
Office music preference: Pearl Jam, Lars Winnerbäck, The Cure, Abba
One person with whom you want to be stranded on a deserted island: Erika and/or MacGyver
Most inspirational quote: "Do I want my employees to fear me or love me? Both. I want them to fear how much they love me." - Michael Scott (NBC’s The Office)
Favorite ice cream toppings: I eat it plain.
Additional information: I see myself as more of a nomad than a settler because since I was little. I have moved around quite a bit. This has in a sort of unexpected way become a large part of who I am. I rarely look at the step that I am taking but the step after. A boat or a plane would be the perfect home because then I could go anywhere I want and my scenery never stays the same.
Chris Shaheen
Multimedia Designer
Hometown: Born in El Paso, Texas
Favorite technological innovation: The Internet
Office music preference: Jazz, classical, indie, funk
Most inspirational quote: "'Begin at the beginning,' the King said, very gravely, 'and go on till you come to the end: then stop.'" - Lewis Carroll
Favorite ice cream toppings: Almonds
Additional information: Give Chris an assignment, and ask him to have it in by tomorrow. He'll tell you he might have it in today, but he might not as well. He doesn't know quite of the assignment is going to unfold yet, but he'll let you know when he'll have it done as its finished, which is usually, but not always, today.
